WHAT IS BAPTISM?

Baptism is a BOLD next step that declares to the world – “I am a follower of Jesus!”

Baptism signifies that you have trusted in Jesus as Savior and Lord, repented of your sin and have committed to follow Him into the new life He has for you. Because Jesus instructed us to be baptized, it is also an act of obedience.

While baptism is not necessary for salvation, it demonstrates submission to Jesus and is the obvious next step of obedience that every Jesus-follower should take.

Baptism is both a visual and symbolic demonstration of a person’s faith in Jesus Christ.

As you are immersed in the water, it demonstrates that your old way of life has been put to death. And when you rise out of the water, it demonstrates the raising up of your new life committed to following Jesus.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

There is also spiritual significance of baptism, as it signifies a complete covering and filling with the Holy Spirit of God – Who is the One that brings new life to your soul!

“…go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

If you have never been baptized after salvation, this is your next step! We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Jesus said there is rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents! (Luke 15:7)
